Improved efficiency for leading OEM

Company Background

Our client, an industry leading manufacturer of pumps in the UK used in waste water, air conditioning and laboratory applications across the globe.

Issue

We were approached with a brief to assist with consolidating their supply chain, as over the years this had become unmanageable with the current set up, by trading with too many vendors and not concentrating on reducing costs in areas where savings could be made.

Solution

With the information provided, we undertook a full BOM investigation , highlighting areas where cost savings could be made with very little effort required by the client. Offering alternatives to main line manufacturers, by sourcing cost effective products from the Far East and Europe, and then following this by providing a full manufacturing service.

Benefits

Not only did we reduce the cost of individual assemblies, but by stocking in depth in our UK warehouse facility with the support of the Rebound Group, we have reduced lead times and operate a complete JIT service, enabling our customer to reduce inventory and associated cost of ownership.

The UK has announced that a ban on selling NEW petrol, diesel and hybrid cars and other vehicles will be implemented from 2035 onwards. The ban was initially expected to be in place from 2040, but the government has now brought the date forward. It now also includes all types of hybrid vehicles.

So, what does the 2035 ban on petrol, diesel and hybrid cars mean for the UK? And, how should we prepare for the rise of the electric vehicle?

Tips for Reducing Production Costs in Electronics Manufacturing

Part of running any successful business is financial management, particularly identifying where you can reduce unnecessary costs. This isn’t so simple when it comes to electronics manufacturing as there will always be cost involved in such material-heavy processes, but there are still ways that OEMs and CEMs can reduce the costs in the production side of their business.
